Well Fashioned: Eco Style in the UK
A Crafts Council Touring Exhibition
Exhibition project management, object loan and venue liaison
22 March to 4 June 2006
Touring during 2006 and 2007 to The City Gallery Leicester, The Design Centre Barnsley, Portsmouth Museums and Records Service, and Bilston Craft Gallery, UK.
The exhibition looked at the current state of eco fashion in the UK from the perspective of 21 emerging and established designers, each with a distinct approach to eco fashion design. The exhibition covered diverse aspects from the careful selection of materials and production processes and the use of organic fabrics and manufacture in ethically managed factories, to designing multi-size and multifunctional clothing and adding value and emotional attachment to design work instead of responding to trends. Curated by Rebecca Earley, exhibition design and graphics by Studio Myerscough, and photography by Richard Learoyd. This was the last exhibition to take place at the Crafts Council Gallery before its closure.
Exhibition project management provision consisted of the following:
- Timeline development.
- Budget management.
- Exhibition and graphic design management.
- National freight logistics.
- Installation/derig management.
- Object loan negotiation.
- Liaison with exhibition venues.
- Interpretation development.
